Chewbacca Mania
Uncle Matt picked out this onsie special for his little niece, Annabelle. It is so funny! I will think of him every time she wears it.
Aunt Amy also picked out a rainbow onsie and jean shorts that are going to be a summer favorite. She also gave us a funny little book about a kitten called "Skippyjon Jones".
Thanks to Matt, Amy, Owen, Sloan and Hanna!
Annabelle is 1!
Monday, February 18, Annabelle turned 1. We had a big party for her on Saturday. Many friends and family came to celebrate with us. We had a wonderful time watching her open her presents. She was so sweet, after she opened each gift, she walked around the living room showing everyone what she got. Grammy and Poppy gave her some clothes that will look so sweet on her this spring and summer, Nana and Papa gave her a Winnie the Pooh riding toy that lights up, GeeGee (Great Grandma) gave her a blow up swimming pool and Strawberry Shortcake swimming suit and Carol got Annabelle a sandbox wheelbarrow and toy lawn mower. Aunt Nicki and Uncle Kris got her some plates and silver ware that we will use everyday! Aunt Shannon and her family got Annabelle and hippo that goes on the bath tub faucet. The Gordon's couldn't make the party but they gave her a Marie doll from Aristocats along with a summer outfit with Marie on it. Aaron and I got a blue hippo bubble maker and some beautiful amethyst ear rings. Unfortunately, she won't let me change her ear rings yet. After yummy strawberry cake and home made ice cream (thank you Shannon), we watched a slide show of Annabelle's first year. Click on Annabelle's slide show if you'd like to watch it too.
All in all, Annabelle had a great first birthday. Thanks to all who helped celebrate this wonderful achievement.
When everyone told me that the first year would go by so fast, I believed them. But I didn't truly understand until her first year had come and gone. It seems like she was only a baby for a few days. I've looked over all the pictures that we have of Annabelle and nearly come to tears remembering her. I will always remember her on that first day that I met my sweet baby Annabelle.

At the Park
Monday, the 4th, was a beautiful day, 70-something degrees. How could we resist going to the play ground? Annabelle and I went walked to the Dollar Tree and headed to the park across the street. I pushed her on the swing and she loved that. Then we went to the jungle gym. We climbed up and slid down. We played with a big dial that turns with silver marbles that go around and around. Annabelle really liked that. We were about to leave when some kids showed up. Annabelle was so fascinated and watched them climb and play. We stayed for another 15 minutes. When we got home, we had a yummy lunch. After that, Annabelle crashed and slept for about 2 and a half hours. It was great. If you have any suggestions on other ways to wear her out when we can't go outside please leave a comment. I can't wait till this winter weather goes away. Having a kid is a great excuse for getting outside and exercising. It was really neat watching her discover new things to do outside. There is no end to what she can learn and how she can grow. Who will you become, little one?
